Air Cleaners

Air Cleaners Offers layers or stages of air treatment depending on the manufacture. Most all have some variation of an enhanced media filter that could be anywhere from 1” to 5” thick and the MERV range is 8-16. The filter is installed in such a way so as to collect particles before they leave the filter housing and into your furnace or air handler. They will also have at least one air purifying element in them such as a UV light or an electronic grid to “zap” or kill pathogens and even dust particles as they pass through the charged grid. The effectiveness claims of our air cleaner uses a MERV-16 air filter (Some of the better media filters on the market now are MERV 8-13), which can remove 99% of pollen, mold and spores, 98% of airborne bacteria-sized particles and fungi, 98% of pet dander and dust, 95% of tobacco smoke and smog, 80% of virus and ultra-fine particles down to 0.01 microns in size. The added benefit of air cleaners, other than basically doing the same job as the UV bulb, is that they will remove the particles. It also can only treat the air that passes through it.
