What are some causes of my breaker for my A/C unit being tripped?
Most of the time a breaker trips because of a short in a circuit. The majority of A/C breaker issues are the result of a short in the compressor. A weak capacitor can cause an overcurrent situation with the compressor or fan motor. Another common problem is an old, weak breaker. It is possible for a breaker to trip because of incoming power issues or nearby lightning strikes.
