What are some causes of my breaker for my A/C unit being tripped?
Most of the time a breaker trips because of a short in a circuit. The majority of A/C breaker issues are the result of a short in the compressor. A weak capacitor can cause an overcurrent situation with the compressor or fan motor. Another common problem is an old, weak breaker. It is possible for a breaker to trip because of incoming power issues or nearby lightning strikes. If the breaker trips again after resetting it (toggling the breaker to the off position and then back to the on position), please don’t hesitate to give Clear Comfort a call for a safe, honest and thorough inspection of your equipment.
